385 French 201 Bastille

Résumé: In this short monologue called “Bastille”, Sergio, a middle aged man, is sitting in a bistro waiting for his wife to arrive. He was planning to break up with her, not only because of her annoying routines, but because he’s in love with a young flight attendant that he had been seeing for 18 months. Once his wife arrives at the restaurant and they’ve had a minute to settle in, she breaks down crying and hands him a piece of paper….

  • Qu’est-ce qu’il y avait (what was there) sur ce papier?
  • Est-ce que Sergio a quitté (left) sa femme?
  • Est-ce que sa femme savait (knew) que son mari
    était (was) infidel?
  • Qu’est-ce qui se passe à la fin?
